Brinkman number is a measure of the importance of the viscous heating relative
the conductive heat transfer.
This number is important in cases where large velocity changes occurs over
short distances such as lubricant flow (perhaps, flow in the gate).
In die casting this number has small values indicating that practically the
viscous heating is not important.
